TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said that the party is conducting a survey with the help of a private agency to understand its strength vis-a-vis the ruling TRS in the state. Addressing a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Mr Reddy said that a list of party aspirants for each assembly constituency is being drawn up so that the party can identify the stronger candidates.

The survey, he clarified,  will not be conducted in the constituencies of sitting MLAs and the constituencies which are represented by senior party leaders. He criticised Chief Minister K. Chandras-ekhar Rao for allegedly colluding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and supporting the every decision that the Centre takes. The TPCC chief also criticised the Chief Minister for neglecting the issue of tribal and Muslims reservations. “When KCR couldn’t solve the reservations issue for four years, how will he implement them in four months,” he asked.

Mr Reddy also asked the Chief Minister as to why was he about reservations, Bayyaram, tribal university, railway coach factory, which the Centre had promised to Telangana during the division of combined Andhra Pradesh. Mr Reddy, who met Congress chief Rahul Gandhi recently, said that the party chief wants the party to be prepare to face the election whenever it was conducted. He said that he did not make any recommendations on PCC posts and added that Mr Gandhi will take a decision on PCC committees.
