HC closed the Girdhari Explosives case

Sangareddy district collector and Pollution Control Board authorities on Wednesday informed the Hyderabad High Court that they issued orders for closure of Girdhari Explosives Pvt Ltd for indulging in alleged illegal explosions in Chillemamidi village of the district.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan while dealing with a PIL by S. Ramachandra Reddy, an advocate, on Tuesday, had pulled up the authorities for their inaction and directed the collector and PCB to inform it by Wednesday about the action being initiated against the company.

The petitioner urged the court to direct the authorities to pay damages of Rs 15,000 per affected dwelling in the village of Chillemamidi Chinthalghat Kothur Ananthsagar Edakupally Zeerlapally Chikkapally Ginnarpally Bodsepally Lingampally  and Edupally for the damages caused to their houses due to the explosions.

While directing the authorities to continue the closure of the unit till the unit’s administration gives explanation to the notices issued by the authorities, the bench closed the case.
